A Distant Supermassive Black Hole Emits Giant "Death Rays" Larger Than Our Galaxy

In Brief Astronomers have released a new X-ray/radio composite image of the distant galaxy Pictor A, showing a huge jet of high-energy particles produced by a supermassive black hole.

They were also able to determine how this jet, over three times the size of the Milky Way galaxy, produces such powerful X-ray emissions.
