The term exoplanet has gotten a lot or press in 2015 as astronomers focus a lot of their attention on studying these types of planets. The have found a few different kinds including some gas giants as well as some more similar to earth. Believe it or not astronomers have only spotted a lot of exoplanets in the last 10 years. Wolf 1061 is a red dwarf star located in the constellation Ophiuchus, only 14 light-years from Earth.

The three exoplanets discovered orbiting this star are between 1.3 and 5.2 times the size of our own, according to the team led by Dr Duncan Wright of the University of New South Wales.

“The middle planet, Wolf 1061c, sits within the Goldilocks zone where it might be possible for liquid water – and maybe even life – to exist,” said Dr Wright, who is the lead author of the paper.
